I don't remember where I read this, but I read it in a magazine or on the internet somewhere. And it TOTALLY works! : )
-Make sure you blot the excess.. DO NOT rub it into the carpet!
-Continue to blot until it seems you can't much more
-At this point, apply some squirts of Windex to the stain
-Take paper towel or a sponge (or whatever you want) and LIGHTLY scrub.
-Test first in a very small spot to make sure you aren't rubbing into the carpet.
-If it is getting rubbed further, you need to blot more.
Side Note: You need to do this RIGHT AWAY when the spill occurs. I have never tried on a "set in" stain, but I think it might work differently. If you do it right away, it will definitely work.
Happy Stain Removing!

Your project turned out lovely! Good work!
Did you ever see the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"? The partriarch of the family feels that Windex can fix anything from acne to bug bites! Are you part Greek?
This is hilarious! Hahahahhaha! You're becoming so domestic!
Nope, no Greek.
But Windex really does fix everything. If I had to pick one thing to use around the house, Windex would be it. Scrubbing Bubbles is a close second.
I already was domestic at heart mama, I just have a reason to be now.
